I had E.V. & Sons landscaping take out a palm tree that was too close to the house.
Good service and a fair price.

I'd read that palm trees are grasses, not trees, so you can do what you wish, but you might tip off the ARC in advance.

Call Community Standards and ask over the phone......
VCDD Community Standards Phone: 352-751-3912

I've heard palms are considered a grass and permission is not needed...... but I would call.

Tree Frog for removal, and they can also take care of any concerns about permission, however palm "trees" are actually considered to be a Grass and not subject to the 4 inch canopy tree rule.

Queens do not require any approval to remove.

I preferred to light up the hybrid grass that Bill Murray invented at Bushwood : )

Shaving It???

Our bestest Palm Tree got Zapped by Lightning. Try as we might to save it in the end it didn't work out. I called up and found out no permission was needed.

One thing we all should learn from being on TOTV'S, just call as a precaution on all issues. It's worth it to dig for the phone number but someone on here will always help you out.

The number in Post #3 given by CWGUY is the one I used. I recorded them and got a name just in case. Probably illegal to record but better safe than sorry. Good luck.

Default Ameritree

Ameritree 352-461-4890 did very good work for me. Their labor charge for landscaping was high, I thought, but you get what you pay for. I thought their charge for removing the tree was good, and the work was very good. I do highly recommend them as long as low price is not your main objective.

Had our palm trees removed. Did not need permission. Why? They are grass.
