Unhappy Crabgrass

I'm beginning to see Crabgrass in my Zoysia and finding I cannot purchase liquid Ortho Weed B Gone with crabgrass killer because of Florida Law. I do my own Fertilization as services have just about killed my lawn in the past.

Anyone delt with Crabgrass that had good results ????

Tommy, just letting you know you're not the only one. We moved here last month and have lots of crab grass. As our neighbors on both sides seem to have none, I presume we just got a bad batch of turf. Talked this week with our yard service guy and he said it would take a couple of treatments but they can kill it. Three days later and it's starting to look like it's dying. Hopefully it's the start of something good.

As you know, crabgrass is hard to get rid of this time of the year. Normally, we are suppose to kill for crabgrass in early spring, so we kill the seed before it germinates in the hot summer. My suggestion to you, is to go to "The Plant Clinic" at The Sheriffs Office Annex, on Mondays (in the am) on 466 & Morse Blvd. They will help you. Nice dedicated people, who have solutions. Make sure your not talking about having Bermuda grass with your Zoysia!! I'm sure you know, but Bermuda and Crabgrass are two different things. With all this rain we have had lately, the Crabgrass is really taking off. I noticed, even on the golf courses, in the high rough and by catch basins, there is plenty of crabgrass that is seeding, and eventually will blow on someones lawn. Weeds love to flourish in Florida. The weed I'm after lately is Spurge. Grows faster then crabgrass it seems?? Good luck!!!!

Image spray, available at Home Depot. Kills crabgrass & nutsedge plus many others. I have killed crabgrass with two applications.
