Default Friendly reminder

It's time to feed your palms again for the last time this year. I recommend to all of our customers that have had landscaping projects done by us to feed their palms 3 - times per year, feed them in March, July, and November. I recommend Lesco 8-2-12 fertilizer to be used for your palms. Make sure November is your last feeding for the year, and don't feed again until March. If you feed during the winter you have a good chance of doing damage to the tree if we have a freeze. All that new growth is tender and can be hurt from freezing weather. Lesco 8-2-12 can be purchased at John Deere Landscaping, they are located in Leesburg at the corner of Griffin Rd. and Thomas Ave. For those of you that need it delivered there are some local companies that will deliver it to you. This feed works very well for palms, in fact it works well for all your plantings around the yard. ( DO NOT FEED ANY NEW TREES FOR THE FIRST 3-MONTHS ) it will do more damage then good. Also in regards to ( SET BACK REGULATIONS ) be careful when getting estimates for your landscape projects. There are a few Landscape Companies that do look out for your best interest, you noticed I said a few. When getting an estimate make sure they know the rules and regulations that are set forth here in The Villages. When a district is being developed by the developer, the regulations differ then those districts that are already done. So make sure you can trust your landscape designer, I see it all the time where a homeowner was told this or that, and none of it, or some of it was not true. And after they get your money, good luck at trying to get them back to correct the problem. If you read the covenants it's the Home Owners responsibility to get things approved for any landscaping projects. We do that as a courtesy for the homeowner, so they have a peace of mind knowing the job was done right. After all, we warranty all of our work, and we want it to be right to begin with so we don't have to come back and re-work something also. ( Hope this helps with some of your questions. )

If you drive down Pinellas or Hillsbrough Trail you can spot the landscapers that had no permits easy.

They are past the utility boxes, there's one or two on Pinenellis that has landscaping the street.

The only way they will be forced to brought into compliance is from a complaint.

It is not not enforced otherwise...................strange

That is true, someone has to complain about it to the ARC board, or just call them and give them the address of the home and they will send someone out to see if the homeowner has approval papers. We have done jobs over and over for people that had no approval papers. They were told they didn't need an approval, or their landscaper told them it was approved but the customer never received any approval papers. ( That's because the landscaper never intended to get approval or doesn't know how. ) We have done 6 jobs that were a year old on one street, where the customers have spent $5,000.00 to 13,000.00 on jobs and none of them were approved. You can imagine how the homeowners felt when we had to re-do them all in order to get them in compliance. Money spent on top of money because they were never told by their landscaper they needed to get approval, or their landscapers said they were approved, but never had any intentions of getting them approved, or said they were approved by their landscaper and the homeowners never received any paper work from the ARC board. Scam after scam after scam, I've heard it all and it still continues every day. Remember, if it sounds to good to be true it's probably not.
