Default Hedge question

When we lived in Miami, we had a hedge that had glossy green leaves and small red flowers. It bloomed profusely most of the year. Does anyone know what this hedge might have been?

Could it be a variety of Jatropha?
Did you try Googling images of red flowering hedges?
