And don't forget the more water the better. Everybody's lawns look good this year due to the amount of rain we have had. The real test is when mother nature's sprinklers go dry and we all have to decide how much to spend ot not to keep it looking this good.
I find sprinkling once per week just does not do it. Two is better.
I have adopted an approach over the last few years that when a patch of grass starts to go bad/brown/etc...I remove it and start a new bed. My latest one is for cactus. The less grass the better.
