45940 gallons of water in hot tub, don’t you mean Pool, very large pool? Most hot tubs hold 300 to 700 gallons of water. Swim spa may double that? |

Reduced watering during cooler season
I attended a landscaping seminar last fall (before COVID) hosted by a Florida state representative. She commented that watering schedules could be reduced by half during the cooler season ( Dec, Jan & Feb).
Any thoughts on this? Anyone doing it? |

By amount of water usages looks like lot of water running down street drains? I see that a lot when out walking.

We are on a corner lot with a Gardenia with 3 car garage. I am not sure of the square footage of lot but it is typical. Our monthly usage is as follows:
May 29,330 June 15,970 July 17990 Aug. 14,050 Sept. 8,240 Oct. 18,480 We water twice per week, 50 minutes for turf and 20 minutes for landscaping, Zoysia grass. There have been a few times this summer when I would turn off the system if it had just rained, or rain was expected. I did not do this very consistently which wastes water. Starting Dec I lowered the the time for each zone to 25 minutes for turf and 10 minutes for landscaping. Still watering twice a week. I might drop that to once per week, but not sure if that would be too little water. I will consider a new system similar to described above. |
