Default long black dead worm looking things

I have these long black dead worm looking things in my yard. I don't see any live worms. What are these? Thanks for the help.

Are you sure they are not dead baby snakest first glance they can look like worms but they move differently and since these are dead you won't be able to tell. I could be wrong because I don't know what you mean by "long" or "black'?

2.5 inches long and thin. My dog keeps finding them and eating them. Wonder what they are, at first I thought we had just a couple, now he finds them every place, all are dead. Odd!

Sounds like garden worms to me. We get a lot of them in the birdcage when it rains. And then they die and shrivel up. Uggggg.

Maybe night crawlers. Good fish bait when alive.
