Default Palm tree

We are looking to put a palm tree in our front yard. Anyone have any recommendations for where to shop for one at a good price?

Thanks!

Do some research first, contact master gardener and ask which is best for the area. There are many people selling plams that are not really good for this area, then see the comment above. Do not go by price alone, do not buy off the back of a truck.

The master gardener schedule is usually in the Daily Sun, as I recall they have 4 meetings per month at library or rec centers.

After just removing 7 of these maintenance nightmares I would stop looking.

We have four Sylvester's, a Pindo, and a Mule. Call Jason Schmidt Landscaping. They are beautiful palms!

Have 14 palms, have them fertilized and trimmed (as needed) by Greener Source and have had no issues in 4 years. Talk to Jireh landscaping, you can go visit their facility and see the trees (and anything else that interests you). Everyone here will have their own recommendation

Agree. Don't do it. I love the look of my palms but if we ever move to another home in TV, there will be no palms.

Palms look beautiful and very tropical. I've seen trees get so big that only arborists can take care of them. Then the homeowner is on the hook for the annual cost of upkeep. I prefer to look at other people's trees.

Too many folks from up north too often expect a palm tree to be like a maple or elm that they can stick in the ground & forget about, as far as any follow up maintenance goes. Palm trees are much different in that they definitely require more KNOWLEDGEABLE care & maintenance on an ongoing basis to thrive & mature. Those that aren't willing to make this commitment need to stick with their northern-look trees & leave the beautiful, tropical, exotic look that palms provide to those homeowners that are.

Don’t put Queen Palms in. They do it like the cold and are messy and require a lot of maintenance. I know from experience. Never again.

And don't plant them near driveway as the roots will cause rising. We have vinyl siding and it has started to buckle.
