Default ? to seasonal residents who still cut their own lawn.

If you cut your own lawn when you leave for an extended period of time, who do you have cut your lawn?

It wasn't me but it was my neighbor. When he went on a three month cruise, he signed up with my lawn service for the time he was gone. Later on, he signed up permanently.

I would say to ask some of your neighbors that have a lawn service if they like them, and if they do, stop and ask one of the lawn service providers when they are doing lawns to see what they charge. As far as I know there are no long term contracts with these lawn service providers.

One of our neighbors does cut his own lawn but when they do go on trips they have another neighbor cut the lawn for them and then pay him a nominal fee for his services or return the favor when he needs his lawn cut when out of town.
