Question Sun Shade

What do you do protect your grass from the sun?

Why would you want to shade grass it does not like shade and prefers full sun.

VillagerBB, first, do you use a lawn care service, if so, ask them why your lawn does not look good. Second, have you had your irrigation system checked, we used Jim Baumgardner, very good. Our system had several sprinklers mis-adjusted, and some were the wrong type. Also, the amount of water was wrong. We also had a failure of the rain sensor. Any or all of these will affect your lawn.
Hope this helps.

A lawn isn’t meant to be protected from the sun. I’m not certain what your post means. You may have a lawn problem but it’s not the sun. Perhaps it’s the wrong grass, wrong watering, wrong fertilizer, incorrect mowing or disease.

It depends on the type of grass you have. If you have St Augustine, mow it at 4 inches and that will be shade enough. If you have zoysia, mow it at 1 1/2 to 2 inches, no longer. Zoysia has many problems that aren't necessarily related to too much sun or shade. I am attaching a link that will help if you have zoysia. http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/pdffiles/LH/LH01100.pdf
