I think some people came from high tax states, like New York, and are thrilled with lower taxes in Florida, so this is not a big deal to them. What a lot of people are concerned about, is that the Developer has a sweetheart deal with the county as far as impact fees, and pays much less than any other business would pay. In the past, the developer assessed fees onto the new residents that paid for their roads and infrastructure. Now, the developer has managed to shift that cost to the existing residents. My taxes are going towards paying for the new roads and infrastructure relating to the new villages in our community. Those costs should have been borne by the new residents. I feel taken advantage of, and I will not be voting for those county commissioners who were in on this.

How about asking the people who have been here for one to two years. I would say they have seen a bigger increase in their tax bill then anyone else. Maybe some of those people bought here based on budgeting for any normal tax increase. Enough of people spouting off on here about how they haven't seen a tax increase in years when thousands of people are experiencing an astronomical increase. Perhaps the increase should have been tied to how long you have been in your home since the ones who seem to have no objections to the increase, since they haven't seen one for years, would pay more. How about a 3% per year increase capped at 8 years. That way the people who have been in their homes 8+ years would pay 24% and those at one year would pay 3%.
