As of July 15th, the Florida State website shows The Villages in Sumter at 260 cases, and The Villages in Lake county is at 16. So in 11 days the number of cases in The Villages has doubled.

For those wondering, that state run website http://ww11.doh.state.fl.us/comm/_pa...rts_latest.pdf

I'm already an expert, I told you to google it so you could be better informed about normal hospital occupancy rates without a pandemic.

If media wants a story about hospitals being overrun they call up the very busiest ones and get the quotes they want for the story. They could easily access the same data I linked in this thread but that is not the story they want to tell.

If there was a real fire in a theatre and someone yelled "FIRE". Then another yelled, "No FIRE, we should ignore it". Who would people blame?

Fake news, she was fired for being incompetent.

The hospital stats I posted are from an entirely different Florida State website.

Incompetent or a patriotic whistleblower? That is a detail. A tree in a mighty forest of overwhelming facts for all who look and REALLY see.

Unfortunately, talking out on such a forum could cost many of us our jobs. If we all could talk without fear of repercussions, you would be amazed at the reality of the situation. Numbers are numbers and can be spun in many different ways. The reality and truth lies with those who live in the environment on a daily basis.

You are anonomous here. Knock yourself out. Speak the truth as YOU see it!

That has been the problem since day one with our a President and our governor. Is it comforting to know that an ICU bed is available? I guess, but more important what is the game plan to stop the spread so we don’t need the ICU bed?? Florida has significant issues and something has to be done. The Villages is not a protective bubble..... I know three people who have had it or have it. People are coming here to get away from it in South Florida. Just met a couple on the golf course that got a cheap summer rental to escape it. Our numbers do not even support being in Phase 2. It only takes a few to start a major spread as evidenced in house parties, bars etc.
Considering our demographics and that many people over 65 have or have had medical issues, I think we should each manage our risk and the risk to others.

Well said.

I honestly don't understand what you think their "agenda" is. COVID-19 is a horrific illness. A friend of ours was in the hospital for 62 days with it. He is home now but is still feeling terribly. Do you think there's a world conspiracy to fabricate stories about this pandemic? Is the entire world sharing the same "agenda" you referenced, whatever that may be?

Not as “I see it”. As i live it in my daily work life. And, i am not anonymous here or any other form of social media. Unfortunately, because of family health issues i need my job and more importantly my health ins. So, i have a lot to lose and very little to gain.

Seriously, does anyone really believe that if they pretend there is no virus, it’ll simply disappear? Or pretending that it really isn’t what it is, will change it? Sort of like denying gravity, I bet there were a lot of deniers at first then too.

All your problems with data will soon be solved.

"Coronavirus hospital data will now be sent to current administration instead of the CDC."
"......the new database receiving the data will not be available to the public, and most importantly researchers and others......."

So look for improvements in all areas of reporting.

My bad. You're doing the right thing.

The percentages seem pretty low to me. If the cases keep increasing like they have for the last few weeks, it won’t be long when many of those hospitals are in critical positions. ICU patients with COVID seem to stay there much longer than normal.

No problem here. I just look up hospitalization data on Florida's AHCA page as linked in OP.

You know, what some call an "alternate data source"
