We may not be talking about the same set of facts. If you do not currently have coverage and enroll in one of the market place plans available under ACA, there is no exclusion of pre-existing conditions. Just google "ACA pre-existing conditions" and you will find multiple sites confirming that.

Thanks for the replies. I am still working on just what copies of documents to send them and where to make the copies.

Mostly, I am trying to describe why my finances are such that they are as well as go a bit into my medical record and the like. I did not want to do this over the phone as it is very complicated and I can and do become emotional when going into details. There are also the perjury implications of whatever you say to the Federal Government, police, Interpol, FBI, etc. I do have my JD from the University of Minnesota Law School, Class of 1989, so I do know a little about the ins-and-outs. Plus, I have been writing government agencies since the Summer of 1991. I did pick up some training about how to keep record of documents while a student under Student Director Julie Rose at Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners (Stillwater Office) and then became a Student Director for Stillwater myself. Lots of trips to Minnesota Correctional Facililty-- Stillwater were taken by us students and I would not want to wind up as someone some University of Florida Law School students are visiting in Federal prison because I messed up on my application for ObamaCare. Some of my best friendships at law school came out of Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners including a first love of a female law student Jennifer V. (Class of 1990) whom I lived with for nine months or so after I had graduated in 1989.

I do believe that the Affordable Care Act is something needed for many in the US. I am glad that it seems to be working too. Again, I hope this does not become political.

My daughter's existing insurance policy was cancelled due to the ACA. Her replacement policy's premium went up $175 per month to $750 and the deductible increased to $5000. Now she gets to make the decision, see a doctor or buy groceries. Some life saver. Screwing up what was a pretty good system.

I did look at my rates for medical insurance without my talking to anyone on ObamaCare though. They were too much for me or my family to afford. That is part of why I have to file an appeal.

Did your daughter talk to the ObamaCare facilitators or whatever you call these people?

Staples visit.

It took an hour or more of copying yesterday at Staples but I did make the 110+ copies (debit card charges of $11.42 and $1.00) I think I need and am busy looking over my records to see if there is anything else I would like the Federal Government to see about my situation. I can just make additional copies through our computer.

This will probably go out today via One Day USPS mail so that I can beat the March 15, 2014 Deadline. These is another March 31, 2014 Deadline still ahead though.

My ObamaCare appeal package went out on next day USPS Express Mail for $19.99 this afternoon but there was no next day delivery for that part of Kentucky. So, it may get there on Saturday and they all might be off or not get mail delivery. If they do receive delivery, I requested a signature. Maybe, if I call after they have received my package they will be able to understand better where I am coming from with the problems I have had finding suitable employment.

The ball is out of my hands for now. Kind of fitting that this is March Madness Tournament bracket set-up weekend. It will be very interesting where this ball winds up.

I just checked the USPS Tracking System for my ObamaCare package. It arrived there at 12:50 P.M. Saturday, the 14th of March, 2014 and was signed for as well.

I will have to wait and see what happens with this. I had hoped to get it there by the 15th of March which it seems to have done.

The government sure has screwed up the health care system. My insurance has doubled since this law was passed. They really are big, bad insurance companies with the blessing of our government.

Yet it has been a life saver for so many others. It seems to have a lot to do with how wealthy you are. It is more helpful to the old and the poor. Why do they get a break on the cost of living with good health care? I worked for 40 years so, I am not getting a break, but am very thankful for those that do.

The Affordable Health Care Act probably will need a lot of updates and revisions and the like.

In post #37 on the thread "Big Black Eye for TV", it says, "I am part of the way through applying for the ACA. It keeps telling me I am not eligible for Florida Medicaid because I have not filed any Federal Tax forms."

I think this is where the deep involvement of the IRS in the ACA and healthcare is rearing its ugly head (the IRS's ugly head).

Knowing that there are probably millions of poverty-level people across the country who have not filed income taxes--because they work for cash under the table or simply do not have income)--it seems to me that....

When an extremely intelligent, capable and educated-with-law-degree person cannot get the application process done reasonably, all the thousands or millions of under-educated and slow-minded people who haven't filed taxes are just plain up s-creek without a paddle.

And where do these people go then? To the E.R. where they rightly cannot be turned away, which is the most expensive setting possible for care, and is the place that is most expensive to run because it is set up heavily-staffed and heavily-equipped 24/7/365 to handle "emergencies" of life and limb, NOT urgent care, minute clinic, nor primary care problems.

Add to that the person's insurance depending on the IRS, and it's an abyss.

Like a lot of Government legislation, revisions are often needed and the Affordable Care Act is no different. I hope there is the will and a way.

It has been help for ESPECIALLY those with pre-existing conditions. My son can now keep the grandchildren on his policy---and that too was good.

OP, blessings and prayers for your situation.

My situation is quite complicated. I am sure there are others kind of like mine as well.

I did have a medical problem a month or so and just went to Urgent Care and my parents picked up the bill. I really want ObamaCare to work for me in one way or another so that they no longer have to do this.

I really want the system to work for you and everyone, too.

Everyone needs to take a hard look at the IRS's control in all of it. To me it's looking awfully punitive to cash-earners or non-earners, whose taxes aren't in order, while already being in dire health and poverty-stricken.....too weak to fight the system.

Wishing you the best, and thank God you have family to help.

Thanks. They have been the world to me. I am not sure what kind of nexus there is between the IRS, ICE, and other governmental agencies and ObamaCare. http://www.ice.gov/
