My opinion, re: doctors. Someone in the same group. The reality, my opinion, they are in the same group because they share view points. Medical practice, does not say medical science it is medical arts. Further, add medical insurance and medicare. They will only pay for this. Are there other alternatives? Of course there are.

My same contrarian view applies to your doctor suggesting you see doctor xxxxx for a second opinion. Your doctor knows doctor xxxxx and knows doctor xxxxxx will have the
same opinion.

Doing your own research. It is a rare doctor that will/can encourage this. They don't have the time and or think how dare you a layman question me?

Sad reality, there is no magic pill that will make us 20 again.

I second that recommendation. He and his staff are the BEST you're going to find. He might recommend Green Laser Light therapy which solved my issues.

I’m curious if your doctor is Harvey Taub at Advanced Urology? He was my first doctor at AU for bladder cancer and he actually laughed at me while I was explaining what I was told by my doctor in WA state. Very upsetting. I was very fortunate because soon after he was out for some reason and I was seen by Dr Dersch, who I really liked. I requested to change doctors and they let me keep trying.

Pro tip: Take Tamsulosin at night and Oxybutynin ER in the morning. Try drinking very little alcohol and carbonated drinks. Try Diet Peak Tea with half water then fill half with tea. Do not take Finasteride unless you are willing to inject Tri-mix into your *****. Finasteride will definitely cause you to have a limp noddle. I would strongly advise trying this first before a uro-lift. Some physicians are all about the money especially if you have good insurance. Speaking from experience first hand! Good luck…

Go see Jason Gerboc, (sic) he is down by waterman hospital. I went to a supposed specialist located just outside the villages, he was too old and shouldn’t be practicing anymore. I finally found Dr. Gerboc and he’s very knowledgeable, ranked very high and he’s not afraid to do the Prostate MRI which is the only way to go even though he made nothing on that test. I highly recommend this man, this comes from experience.Doc

Thank you all for your time and sharing your opinions and experiences. I will as you had mentioned TRY and learn all I can as to "The Doctor" and.... The Procedure should I need one. Again thank each of you for your valuable input as I try to evaluate each and every comment.

I'll keep you informed as to what I find out and.... what remedies I decide on. Don't trust just "any" Doctor. Enjoy your day

Default My BPH Solution

Two years ago, a physician's assistant in Dr. Young's office (Lady Lake) wrote a prescription for 5 MG Tadalafi; the genearic version of Cialis. It had just been approved by the FDA to shrink an oversized prostate. It has worked very well for me. Don't be pressured into geting a surgical procedure without knowing all of the risks involved.

As I understand it, tadalafil increases blood flow and relaxes muscles. But, the drug, finasteride, can actually reduce the size of the prostate over time.

Had a similar experience with the condescending Taub.

Husband was with Dr. Sher at Advanced Urologist for over 10 years. He was hospitalized over 2 years ago for a fractured leg. He also has advanced Parkinson's disease. Came home from the hospital with an internal catheter and was told by Dr. Sher that it would be permanent and nothing could be done because of the size of the prostate. We then contacted Dr. Derek Thompson with The Village Health and he did the Green Laser procedure. My husband has been catheter free for going on 2 years.

This is the same Doctor at Advanced Urology that I had issues with. After 6 months and "again" telling him I had frequent trips every 1-2 hours to bathroom he "again" told me I was drinking to many "caffeinated" drinks..... which everything I drink including coffee is decaffeinated! Told me to come back in a year.

You can bet I will go to another Urologist. Screw me once shame on you... Screw me twice shame on me.

Again I appreciate all the comments

I go to Dr Roach at Advanced Urology. I was having this same problem and he put me on Flomax (Tamsolusin) and it has solved the problem.

You should also be aware that many blood pressure medications can act as a diuretic. You might need to let your cardiologist and primary care physician about the problem.
