I've used EyeBuyDirect.com for about 15 years now. Good glasses at all price points (I usually go for cheap frames). You can add whatever features you want. If you get glasses and you don't like them they will refund your money and ask you to donate the frames to a charity. Good company.

How were you able to get all the necessary measurements for ordering online?

THAT would be my question as well. IF I ordered glasses, I'd want the kind that are bifocals without the line as well as non-glare.

Stores don't do any measuring. They have a small selection of frames, and you need to pick one that fits. They usually don't come in different sizes. At least the online stores have a large selection and they provide the frame dimensions and weight.

Your eye doctor is required to give you a copy of the prescription. In terms of measurement, the "pupillary distance" that is not included in the prescription is easily measured yourself in a mirror with a metric ruler.

Zenni offers all the bells and whistles including the above mentioned no line bifocals and anti glare.

Stay away from Muukal. They are a Chinese company. Poor quality control and communication.

Although I have had success on online ordering I’ve also had failures. Don’t be fooled with American names etc because in order to achieve cheap pricing the orders are sent to China for fulfillment.

As far as getting a repair, I have found that most optical stores don't care where you bought them, and they will usually do a simple repair for free. Also, I bought a repair kit from Amazon that included a large assortment of tools, screws, bolts, and plastic nosepiece replacement parts.

Same here.
