Any recommendations for a doctor to do carpal tunnel surgery?

Dr. Chinn and Harding are in together and are great. Dr. Chinn operated on my finger for trigger finger and I have had no trouble with it since and it has been two years. Either Dr. Chinn or Harding are great. Good luck.

I had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands in 2003 in Maryland. The hand surgeon might ask you he has two options. To either enter through the palm and then you'll wear a hard cast for 10 days or enter through the wrist and wear a soft cast for 3 days. Then the doctor said, if I go through the wrist and find scar tissue in the hand, I'll have to operate again and go through the palm the second time. So naturally I chose the palm and wore the hard cast. He made the incision on a lifeline in my palm, so afterwards there is no scar.

What they'll be doing is there is a band around the three main nerves that go to the hand. For some reason the band gets smaller and will pinch off one of the nerves. In my case one nerve was completely pinched off, so they call that severe carpal tunnel. He'll just enter through the palm and cut the band in half. Then the band will regrow at a larger size through normal healing.

I still have a little numbness at the tip of a finger or two. I never regained my full dexterity, I notice that when I type or especially when I played softball I didn't have the feel that I had when I was younger, but the main reason for getting the surgery was there was tremendous pain in my hands, especially when I laid down to sleep. Toward the end I had to sleep sitting up in bed. They did prescribe oxycodin but that quit working after a week or so. Good Luck on your surgery.

My wife & I both had carpal tunnel surgery with Doctor Harding. She is the best in our opinion. Good Luck.

I developed Trigger finger in both hands recently. Had previously seen and was very pleased with Dr. Cynthia Harding, but could not get a first appointment for three months. My heart specialist recommended a Dr. Vikram P. Mehta, Reconstructive Hand Surgeon whose main office is in Lake Mary, he comes to this area on 441 just one day a week. I got an appointment with him immediately and I am very pleased with his work. What really impressed me was his technique of taking Xrays and walking you through them so that you can see all the bones in your hands and the problems you have. He spends time explaining problems. 407-333-4548.

My wife is having both her hands done by Dr. Harding on 12/11; that’s after I have arthroscopic scapular reconstruction for a irreparable rotator cuff tear done on my left shoulder on 11/8; this is going to be a fun end of the year.
