Let's us all hope that both trials are successful and that life can return to normal.

In additional related good news: I have relatives who work in the periphery of this area, and I heard a couple of additional things from them. First, there'a one research group who, due to the urgency of the situation, has proposed human challenge trials. That is, they want to give people a potential vaccine and then intentionally expose them to the virus and then, uhm, see if they die or not. Or something. The surprising part of this is that so far they have 30,000 volunteers for this program. Again, let's wish them (and their volunteers) well.

The other bit of good news is that some medical research funding organization has given a multi-million dollar grant to Corning Glass to allow them to begin the mass production of glass vials, so that once a vaccine has made it through the phase 3 trials and is approved for general use the vials needed to distribute the vaccine will be available.

Let's hope for the best, and have a kind thought for the thousands of researchers who will be the unsung heroes of this battle once the war is won.
