Asking if anyone has experience with Dr. Daniel Robertson, Ocala Neurosurgical Center, Ocala or Dr. John Stevenson, The Orthopedic Institute in Ocala ~ his office is in Gainsville. Both are Neurosurgical Specialists. I have lower back issues and plan on seeing both for their recommendations. Any recommendations here?

I use Dr. Robinson for my low spine issues.
To see him you must have a recent MRI to make an appointment.
He is one of the most detailed, patient, listener....then he will tell you what he thinks.
His first priority is to avoid surgery if at all possible. In my case he ordered a series of low spine injections in the suspect area. Within a 90 day period and since (December 2018) I have been almost pain free. He ordered injections for both sides of the spine all within a period of a couple of weeks. Usually ortho docs will say let's wait and see....Robertson is more aggressive to assure the nerve inflammation is knocked down.

No surgery on the horizon. Mission accomplished.

He is very methodical and no nonsense.

Not with either of these...but 2011, I had a dissectomy done by a neurosurgeon whose no longer in The Villages. He told me "IF" I ever had anything else done, it should be with a neurosurgeon and not an orthopedic dr. THAT was when we still were snow birds so the possibility maybe would have happened up north. I've heard good things re: the neurosurgeons in Ocala...so I'd go with that.

I did the original post and since have seen Dr Robertson (not Robinson). Very impressed. He avoids surgery as a last option. His office is in Ocala. Ocala Neurosurgical
