She ended up having the surgery by Michael Messieh, who sees patients here in TV and who operates in Clermont. Her results could not be more perfect; she was able to walk (with support) in less than a week and never bothered having the second knee done, as she feels so strong with the one 'new' knee that she doesn't feel the need to do the other. Dr. Messieh's phone number is 407-592-1921.

Dr. Michael Messieh is highly recommended for doing knees that have been totally messed up by other surgeons. Excellent man. Will not do surgery until it is absolutely necessary.

Thanks for the recommendation, Quixote and M.A. Dr. Messieh also did a hip replacement for a friend, totally successful. DH needs to see an orthopedic about his knees. Had a partial knee replacement, not successful.

Sorry, I just saw your question. I’m paraphrasing. Dr. Williams said that it’s not possible to see well going in from the side. He also implied that sometimes the side entry procedure seems successful at first but there could be some problems later. You really should talk with him.

Also, there is a club, Knee Group, that meets twice a month on Tuesday evening at Churchill Rec Center. They have guest speakers. This is where I met Dr. Williams. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the heads up on this group.

Given that I have lots of questions from those who have gone through it and with my current issues...I may soon kneed some good advice.

Thank you so much for all this good info. I’m interested in the Knee Group. Is there a contact? What day and time is the next meeting?

Everyone has to do what is the right thing for them. I can tell you my spouse had both knees done (not at the same time) by Dr. S. Nguyen in Orlando and was golfing in 6 weeks.
