Default Dr. Cesar Euribe

I am seeking comments regarding Dr. Cesar Euribe, a pain management specialist at Central Florida Pain Management. I've been referred to him, and would like to know of others' experiences and opinions regarding him.
Thanks!

I was referred to him by my primary care doctor for treatment of back pain related to spinal injury. I had a full course of injections which did not bring relief.

After the maximum number of injections allowed, I was turned over to an associate who tried pain management, first with pills and later with transdermal patches. The pain was moderated but did not go away, and I was wary of becoming addicted to the medication.

Accordingly, I obtained permission from my primary care and my cardiologist for spinal surgery. The pain was lessened, but I still live with chronic low back pain. I wish I had gone for the surgery sooner.

Regarding Dr. Euribe, he had me prepared for injections by a nurse; came into the room and gave me the shot, and then left. Very little bedside manner. I had to wait in a recovery room for a few minutes where I was occasionally visited by a nurse to assure I had no negative reaction to the shots.

The young man who worked with me on using pain medications was very personable and seemed to be seeking the treatment that would be best for me. As I said above, my situation was ultimately handled by surgery.

Good luck on dealing with your pain.

I agree,,,,

Needs improvement in bedside manner. Has staff doing most of work and then walks in and out of room, very little interaction with patient after initial exams. PA seems very qualified but his hands are tied.

I can only speak for myself but I have been seeing Dr. Euribe for several years and I do not recognize the doctor mentioned in the negative comments. Dr Euribe has always spent a great deal of time with me in describing procedures and treatment plans. I have often commented about how different he was from other physicians in that he showed sincere concern for me. He has a mild manner which kept me calm when I was anxious about getting the shots. Only my personal opinion based on firsthand experience with Dr. Euribe.

I was seeing Dr. Euribe for many years as needed for injections. Because of new medical problems on my end, I can no longer lie in a prone position for injections which he was very much aware of. First 2 injections given while sitting with no problem. When I returned for the 3rd scheduled visit, I was told to lie down on my stomach which they knew I couldn't do. I have never been treated so rudely in my life! I am now under the care of an excellent pain management and rehab MD at Mayo Clinic. Hell would have to freeze over before I set foot in his office again.

Interesting comment about the staff. My wife has had similar problems in dealing with the staff. Last year the insurance company faxed the authorization for treatment and it sat on someone's desk for 4 months. Every time she called to see the status, they kept telling her that the insurance company never responded. Finally after much probing they "discovered" that they had it all along. Meanwhile, my wife was in pain for four months with no treatment.

Complaints to the doctor fall on deaf ears since the staff will accuse the patient of being rude to them and the doctor will take the staff's side and dismiss the patient from his care.

I second everything you said. The staff at that place is the worst! As for the doctor, like others have said he is not much on talking and if you ask him a question he gives short answers. I had three shots, they worked for about a year.

My husband was referred to him by our PCP. He has a history of sciatica due to sport injuries decades ago. In Utah he received steroid injections which gave him great relief. He talked with Dr. Euribe about that treatment and was told that he used the same method. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!

Instead of using fluoroscopy to find the right spot to inject, he did 3 injections in the "general area". He said that this is the "newest way of doing" this procedure. Hubby went to him for 3 rounds of injections (9 months) with absolutely no relief. He was in so much pain and Dr Euribe offered no other options. He got back to his PCP and she recommended The National Pain Institute which is located next to Aldi on 441.

It was a very different experience! He was examined by Dr Satish Venkataperumal and got a full medical history, detailed exam, MRI evaluation and explained the procedure of steroid injections which he would use. It was done under fluoroscopy, so that the injections are given to the exact location needed. Just like he had received in Utah years ago!!! My hubby got immediate relief and has only needed one other injection about 10 months later.

When I think of the time my hubby spent in pain and the costs that Dr. Euribe charged to Medicare for injections that were useless, my blood pressure goes sky high! We made sure that our PCP knew what our experience was at both providers. I would never recommend Dr Euribe to anyone. His shotgun approach may work for some, but the technique using fluoroscopy to locate the exact nerve that should be injected, is the proper way to do this procedure and we feel foolish for letting Dr Euribe allow my husband to be in pain for 9 months, while he only offered his shotgun approach.

We are really thankful for National Pain Institute for providing him some real relief ,that was done properly, and therefore has had long lasting results.

Do not go to Euribe!!!!!

Saw him a few times and finally stopped going there as I did not like him. He comes into the room tells you what will be done and leaves real fast. Had some questions and he never had time to answer them.
