There are some very good chiropractors out there, and they help people in ways a MD can't I have often referred patients TO a chiropractor for certain problems. But my best advice is to get a diagnosis from a MD before starting chiropractic therapy. They are good at treating back ailments that are musculoskeletal in nature, but they are NOT diagnosticians.

Hi, I do agree with the above quote. See an MD first, some of them will actually recommend a Chiropractor and some will not. But it is true for X rays, see and MD first because he will most likely have the X ray done by a Radiologist, the way to go. I have had some good luck with both, but a good Chiropractor is hard to find and it is also true, some folks like me are very hard to get the adjustment right, but another item if they cannot do it in two meetings, then best to move on.

I always thought chiropractors were quacks, too, until I developed sciatica and really was suffering. I went to my MD and she kept prescribing pain killers and I was getting quite daffy.
My friend insisted I go see Dr. Etheridge, a chiropractor at Lake Sumter. At this point, I was ready to try anything. I got in quickly, was examined and treated and WALKED OUT PAIN FREE. I returned about three times for follow up and I remain pain free!
Nuff said. Needless to say, Ive become a believer!
