Default Dr Nalini Yelamanchi

Anyone have any experiences or comments on Dr Nalini Yelamanchi? I have already read reviews on the internet but would like any personal comments from our "talk of the villages" posters.

That is who we use. Out of office alot,,, I have had to go to the Paramount Urgent care twice now, due to her being out of office. That is who her office refers her patients to when she is not there. We are looking around to see who might be better in the area,,,

Default Dr. Yelamanchi

Does not communicate results of tests. Also, does not have staff call to give you your results. So, non-communication is the crux of the matter.

I have been to 4 other internal medicine doctors since moving here in The Villages and was so frustrated by all of them for various reasons. I started to see Dr. Yelamanchi about a year and a half ago. She and I work very well together to keep me healthy. She spends a lot of time with you to discuss your test reports and immediately gives you a copy of the report for your files, if you want it.

Last year I was diagnosed with a very common case of breast cancer and it was Dr. Yelamanchi who had to call me with the results of the biopsy. She was extremely sensitive and caring in giving me the results and gave me her opinion of the severity of my case. ALL of the doctors she referred me to for my cancer treatment were the BEST of the BEST. As a matter of fact, all the referrals respect Dr. Y very much, as they have in their files upon my arrival, a complete profile of my health from her so they can treat me appropriately.

Since then, she has also referred me to a few other specialists and after visiting with them, I call her to rave about the high quality and expertise of all her associate doctors. My neurologist was absolutely brilliant, my gyno was very good, insightful and sensitive and my oncologist was brilliant (esp his NP).

I have had many sinus infections and have never been referred to Urgent Care by her staff. Obviously, I am there very often so have become very well known by the staff and the doctor.

Her office is very very busy because she is so good, so it may be a little difficult to get an appointment but once you see her, she will give you all the time you require.

BTW, I do not want to have test results communicated to me by staff, I would rather reschedule and appt to talk to the doctor herself.

I highly recommend Dr. Y and her staff.

I agree. I have been seeing her for about 9 months and she has always been professional, friendly and responsive. I

I also give a big thumbs up to Dr. Yelamanchi.

Use the Search at the top of the TOTV page, input her name, and find past posts about her.

I don't know anything about this physician...but want to address the comment about "having" to go to Urgent Care. It has been my understanding here in The Villages that "if" you have something that isn't "life threatening" and your physician is full for the day that Urgent Care is the option to pursue. An personal example would be...last winter I'd developed what I believed to be bronchitis, a sinus infection along with flu-ish symptoms. Rather than call my primary I just went to Urgent Care and had it taken care of. I mainly see my primary for scheduled appointments.

Kinda defeats having a primary physician. That is what the primary is for. You should not have to keep going to a urgent care for thing that your family doctor or so called primary is suppose to be doing????????????????

I have asked Dr.y about getting test done, and about seeing specialist. I check at the desk and am told you are getting a referral. Only once has this worked out. Most of the people I work with had to change physicians last year due to insurance. so we all started with Dr. Y. but most have changed to someone else. She is a really nice person to talk with. But just not happy with how the set up goes there. With my insurance as most,, the copay's are higher to see a urgent care. Now Paramount Urgent Care is the best I think of the ones around here, but the Dr. we use to have in Leesburg always took care of the needs. If you were sick, they took care of it, never referred you to a urgent care. I think of my Family Physician as the star of the team, why should I have to go to a substitute for care??? Just my thoughts...

I also go to Dr. Y. and like her but have had similar problems with referrals. I called three times to get one done. Perhaps we all need to bring this to her attention. The office is currently closed this week - I'm not sure how long this has been.

I used to go to her until she suggested an EKG for a yearly check up and then saw something "suspicious". She wanted to refer me to a cardiologist who turned out to be her husband. I went to my husband's cardiologist instead and he basically asked "why are you here?"

I have been with her for over a year with Preferred Care. I will not be with Preferred Care and her next year. Had to explain why I needed a referral to a cardiologist when a cat scan on abdominal area should something questionable. Plus she never read my family history that has a lot of heart disease. Each appointment , you wait and then she spends maybe five minutes with you if you are lucky. Just an okay doctor. Not what I am looking for.

Up north, or wherever you moved here from, did you not ever have a time where you called in and couldn't get in that day??? Well that has happened a time or two here. So, I went to Paramount Urgent Care for my issues! This may have happened 2X...and it was a weekday. I've also gone there on the weekend another time or two. My primary is stellar and I'm pretty satisfied with my health-care here in T.V.!! Of course I must add I'm not familiar with the physician that is being discussed on this thread! Though we've all found a "lemon" in the system---whether it be here, or where we moved here from.

I only have seen her once but felt she wasn't as interested in listening to what I felt important as she was in getting the information that SHE wanted. I would try to speak and she would just stop me and ask a question. I am going back for a second visit but if the chemistry isn't any better, I will probably be looking for a new doctor.

I was sitting in the waiting room, when her Nurse said, I hate my job! My first response was to leave. I stayed and met with Doctor, very curt and lacked communication. I had a flare up with diverticulitis, I was told to go to the emergency room or urgent care. She could not help me.

The second doctor I'm seeing for diverticulitis, could not see me, the staff suggested I go to urgent care. I'm appalled by this approach. I'm looking for another doctor outside of The Villages. There is apathy with some of these so called doctors.

I am shocked....she has been our doctor for tha last three years and neither I nor my husband has ever felt that she wasn't interested in what we had to say.
