Upright is best. Or a Sun Trike has upright back & full padded seat

I do have osteoarthritis in my back. I want to get an exercise bike. I've always had an upright in the past, but a recumbent is intriguing. I just don't want to buy it and not use it.

Thoughts and opinions? Thanks. Be safe out there.

My husband has back problems and wasn't sure which to buy...but wanted something to use inside to keep in shape. I bought him one that can be both recumbent or upright, plus it has hand pulls to keep his arms in shape. It wasn't all that expensive and he seems to like it and uses it several times a week. Says he uses the recumbent more but likes having the option to switch back and forth.

With knee and back issues, the recumbent works best for me...got it free from a friend....you can probably find one online for pretty cheap!!

I have a recumbent exercise bike for indoor use and I am selling it. I purchased it at Dick's Sporting Goods about 6 months ago, and it is in perfect condition. I have just found I prefer riding outside even when it is quite chilly. I will send a picture, price and more information if you are interested. It is wifi equipped and has many different settings available as well as an adjustable seat.

If you want to start off with a comparison of what you get with various models, consider checking Consumer Reports. You can access it online using your library card.
