Smile GHP CBP healthcare for NYC municipal workers

Both my husband and I will be moving to TV this month! We are 52 and 51 respectively.. so we don't qualify for medicare. We know that GHI is limited in TV but we have been able find one of their urgent care offices that does take it near Lake Sumter.
The insurance we have is for retired city workers - NYPD, Department of Ed etc. We are hoping that some of our retired NYC colleagues could recommend a good general practitioner that accepts this insurance as well as a gastroenterologist and gynecologist. There are some on the list but it's a shot in the dark. We don't mind traveling to Ocala if necessary for specialist but for general practitioner would like to keep the trip closer to TV. Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, my husband is also a NYC retiree. He is now on Medicare and GHI is his secondary. My primary insurance is GHI as I am not 65 yet. Anyway, just go to the GHI website and type in the zip code where you will live down here and the specialty of the doctor you wish to see. A list of doctors who take your insurance should print out. A word to the wise, please call the office and ask the staff if the doctor is an "in-network" GHI participant. Mic you ask if he or she accepts GHI, they may say yes, but then there will be a large out of pocket payment due from you, so ask if they are in-network.
GYN: no doc here, when I go home to LI I use my doctor there.
General practices: Frank Paiano, DO. 352-633-0778
GI: Lal Nagabhairu, 352-383-7703
Cardiac: Dr. Couturier (Heart of the Villages) 352-674-2080
Dermatology: Dr. Johnny Gurgen (or Michael Gurgen, Nurse Practioner) 352-435-7695
Eye MD: Mamdouh Zeini, MD 352-753-9888 352-751-0060
Laboratory: Quest Labs (go to website and find address or office closest to you and make appt or walk in).
I hope this helps you. By the way, the Blue Cross/ Blue Shield covers the hospital and /or surgicenter. The Villages Hospital accepts BCBS. Just a gentle reminder, I always call the insurance company to confirm and ask for a written copy of the info they give me. Good Luck. Welcome! Any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. You can PM me if you wish. Kathy B
