Is that based on board certification in allergy and immunology????? Or just a guess????

It's based on many years of observation and in consultation with a number of doctors I've had over the years.

Doctors aren't God. They often disagree among each other. A good doctor of course is an important tool to have in your quiver of tools. A second opinion is another good one. But no doctor knows your body after a 15 minute examination as well as you do.

100 day cough is also known as whooping cough. I may be wrong but I believe it is contagious. At least in the beginning. I hope this IS NOT what the OP has. This would mean a respiratory infection.

Can try staying away from mucus formers for a while: dairy, peanuts, bananas, & citrus

You are correct. Whooping cough or pertussis has also been known by the archaic term "100 day cough". It IS highly contagious, but fortunately most of us has been vaccinated. Immunity does fade with age, so any grandparents who plan on having close contact with a newborn should be re-vaccinated.

I had Whooping Cough as a kid, but never been vaccinated.
Do I still have, or ever had, immunity?

Unless you are immunocompromised, you should have developed immunity against pertussis after having the disease. But just like the vaccine, that immunity fades with age, so the same advice regarding newborns applies.

Thank you. Had enough stuff pumped into me over the last few years.
I will just avoid newborns!

Anybody else have or had a hacking cough with phlegm that lasts for 1-2 months? What treatment did you seek and what finally helped?

Last time I had a cough that wouldn’t leave, I found out it was acid going into my lungs from acid reflux. I took acid reflux meds for two weeks and TaDa the cough went away.
I still now and then get that cough and just take acid meds again and it goes away.

But, what about the chicken soup?

Hay fever. Lots of pollen in TV.
See an allergist to identify and treatment options.

Do you still have the cough or did you Pass !
