With such low numbers of dose availability I suspect the wait will be longer than we think!!

So now we wait.....

Why is it that people that responded after me have already gotten appointments and I have not?

mistervin 01-13-2021 09:20 PM

Yes, registered and approved Sunday night, authorized to schedule Monday morning, made appointment for shot on Tuesday morning.
Well organized and professional.

HapEvillager 01-13-2021 09:30 PM

DaleDivine: The same thing happened to me. I got an appointment but hubs said “invalid code.” I registered Sunday evening and got an appointment today. I explained the situation to the very kind paramedic and hubs received his vaccination. It’s worth a try. That invalid code is never going to work, believe me.

Songbird 01-14-2021 03:37 AM

I used the saferestart website and was approved. I then got a phone call giving me a 6 digit code to make an appointment but I could not understand the URL of the website to submit the the code for getting an appointment. It's not the same website as the saferestart. Can anyone tell me the URL of the website to make the appointment? Thanks.

The SafeRestart website is the site you need to use. Click on Step 2 and enter the code. My code was a combination of six numbers and letters and I was given this code via a text message.

Safe Restart

I applied earlier this week and have appt for later today, Thursday. I suggest anyone who hasn’t sign up do so but use the “send email” rather then phone call or txt. I got confirmation email immediately with code and link to sign up for date and time. Also use all zeros or 1’s for ssn and no insurance.

Mario M 01-14-2021 09:01 AM

Yes! We signed up several days ago and received dates for 1st & 2nd vaccination for next week. However we did put SS# and also that we had health insurance.

word seemed to have spread pretty quickly on this online registration vehicle...I'm sure that they're overwhelmed at this point

the front end data collection part of the process may have been automated, but I'll guarantee you that there's a lot of manual intervention going on before any of us get a response back

building a totally automated system like this doesn't happen overnight...especially when there is extreme pressure to get something out there quickly

Strange that people are getting appointments in some manner other than first come first served.

Wondering how this is actually working.

People who applied yesterday getting appts others that applied this past Monday still waiting.

Rosie53 01-14-2021 09:45 AM

Went yesterday and it was very well run. Each person we dealt with was kind and upbeat. It can’t be easy for them dealing with so many elders

scaccace01 01-14-2021 04:19 PM

Which Vaccine are they giving and what location did you get it?

I agree. I can't think of any justifiable reason why they are not making appointments on a first come first served basis. The Governor established a priority system for the state, and I could understand them rejecting people who don't qualify under the Governor's process. But, the county should not be using any other priority system. It is very suspicious.

Carla B 01-14-2021 06:09 PM

Here's a question for those who didn't enter SS# or Insurance info and have received the vaccine this week? Can you provide your insurance info at the time you get the vaccine?

Based on my sample of two (wife and I, 3 minutes apart in applying) and a few others in this thread they are not applying first come, first served.

Ours was acknowledged 1/11/2021 7 pm-ish....stated approved in response from application....confirmed by email from the site stating the same info.

Nothing since while others applications and appointments have been made since our acknowledged date and time!.

Time will tell.....I guess....I hope!!

bohica35 01-14-2021 08:38 PM

I put in all the info requested and I received my first vaccination date in one or two days. After I responded to the 1st vaccination date they gave me my second shot date immediately. I go this Sunday for my first shot!
Yesterday, I played golf with a friend who got his first shot using that site. So Looks legit!

Mleeja 01-14-2021 08:40 PM

Yes, I was checking the site out Monday morning for a friend to help make sure it wasn’t a scam. I did not give any information but my email address, but I was registered anyway. I received my appointment number today. We had our first round of shots from the other Sumter County event in Wildwood. I was hoping to use this slot for our elderly neighbor but I guess it is non-transferable. BTW, my friend received his first shot this past Tuesday.

Glad I am not the only one! Same thing happened to me. Registered and acknowledged 5 pm ish on Jan 11. Nothing received since then.

I was not asked about insurance information when I was vaccinated. I had filled out the online application with "NO" insurance.

Thank you. I think that's odd. The "Daily Sun" said today to bypass the SS# and the info would be collected on site. I am uncomfortable with denying them the opportunity to collect from Medicare for administering the vaccine if they are entitled to it, but I was more uncomfortable with filling in the info so I didn't. Of course, "The Daily Sun" often gets things wrong.

Byte1 01-15-2021 02:34 PM

We registered on Wed morning and still(Friday afternoon) haven't received a code for an appointment date. We originally filled the form out with social and insurance info and then again later without that info to see if there would be any difference. Both times, received confirmation notices that our info was received and verified. Still waiting for a code for the appointment. I don't care about my getting it, as I will eventually via the VA. But, my spouse needs to get it due to her medical condition. Oh well, I guess it will get around to us eventually. We just have to have patience.

I have been trying for days on this site to get two appointments for my husband and I. I've gotten my codes and then proceed to #2 and put my code and it won't register. I tried again to have them send me the code on my phone and didn't receive on so I put in one of the original codes I received and they would not accept it. I just can't get to the Ins. info, etc so I guess we will be waiting forever. We are wayyy over 65 and would like to know where else we can get them. I went on Publix Mulberry site and they were all out of vaccines. Very frustrating...

billethkid 01-15-2021 06:28 PM

It is unfortunate GMR worded their confirmation of registration email....in the "What is Next" second paragraph, quoted here:

"As additional appointments become available, emails will be sent to people on the waiting list in the order these registrations were received. This process will continue for the foreseeable future, so please be patient if you are not contacted immediately. You will be notified when it is your turn."

The underscored sentence turns out to not be true for some.....hence begging the questions:

Are they not on the list if others with later registration dates are being given scheduled dates ahead of them?

If not scheduled in the order received, what does that mean/imply?

While remaining patient it is concerning when the steps outlined as the process do not go forward as notified.

Patience (and blind faith).

Lots here registered on Monday and have not received appts yet.

Had a similar problem trying to register neighbor. I was entering birth. date year as 38. they require it to be four digits (1938)

Katieburr 01-16-2021 08:25 AM

My husband and I signed up on the 11th and got a confirmation that our request for an appointment has been received. We have not received an appointment date. Yet I check every day and I see that some people get an appointment right away or within a day or two. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this whole procedure.

billethkid 01-16-2021 09:18 AM

GMR does have a "contact" page. It operates just like their confirmation page.....acknowledges receipt and professes the message has been forwarded to the appropriate area for handling and will respond shortly.

Sent contact information twice in a 10 day period....no response.

There is no excuse for lack of response to questions about why they are not performing as stated in their confirming correspondence.

Very disappointing.

If I get no response next week I will reluctantly begin to look at availability outside Sumter County.

According to someone who talked to the County, there was a computer error that caused some people who registered on Tuesday to get appointments before people who registered on Monday. That could explain why it has not been a first come first served system.

COVID Vaccine

I am sick to death of trying to figure out who’s in charge when it comes to the COVID vaccine. Does ANYONE know? We’ve signed up on line and check our emails first thing every morning, but all we get is the same old “wait your turn” response. Yet every day we see that other people are getting appointments and receiving bar codes, in order to proceed. Someone has got to know the answer to who, what, when, where and how we can get our vaccine.

The best answer to your question in Florida is the Governor. The state has sent vaccines to the individual counties to vaccinate people. The counties have their own websites where people can sign up to get an appointment. You don't need to be a county resident to use any website. There are also several locations where you can just show up and get the vaccine on a first come first served basis. In addition, the state has contracted with Publix and sent vaccines to some of the Publix stores. You can go to the Publix website and sign up for an appointment. The problem is that there are a lot of people who want the vaccine, but not enough vaccine to go around.

gatorbill1 01-16-2021 10:20 AM

Web site was redone Tuesday and all that signed up Monday were left in limbo as it was not integrated into new website. Definitely was an IT problem. Site where shots are given is well organized, website is not.

It's been 48 hours since I received the first verification code and nothing more. I have a friend who breezed through the process with no problems and has both her first and second vaccine appts scheduled. Go figure!! VERY frustrating. Many people are hailing this method and website as the latest and greatest, but so far no deal for me.

completed step 1 on Wednesday 1/13 , received the code via text. Have not received anything further as of today , do I just wait ? or do I try again .
