Default Help in finding a doctor...I'm new

Where do I get recommendations for a good internist? I hate to blindly pick.

Default Internist

There have been many posts for this question.
Type "internist" and possibly "doctor" in the Search Tab at the top of this page.
I am sure you will find some answers.

This is a common question for us newbies. Finding a good doctor also means finding a competant staff also. Your life depends on it. Beware of the demands the staff makes in filling you perscriptions, some require 72 hours advance notice. Some of the staff are very forgetful and this puts an added burden on the patient. Forgive my spelling but some have even become desensitized. Just dont look for a good doctor look for the whole package. Communication, friendly atmosphere, being concerned about their patients. Seems like a few places have become like assembly lines of no compassion. More than likely you will have a hard time finding a good doctors OFFICE because most are not accepting new clients. good luck.

Ask if they have priviledges at local hospitals.

Default Looking for primary care doctor

Dear Friends, I realize that asking for a GOOD DOCTOR is like "what's the best golf cart". However, I'm looking for someone that VILLAGERS have had good experiences with. All help appreciated. Good health, Denise & Alan sxmrosie@yahoo.com

tiger kitty......we have Dr. Khanna and are quite happy. The staff at PMA is for the most part very excellent. Also Dr. Khanna has a nurse practioner who is very knowledgable. The Urgent Care doctor who is there is good and even makes follow up phone calls to make sure you are doing ok.

Default Doctor recommendations

Just got to The Villages today to become permanent residents and we're in the same boat as tiger kitty and was hoping we could get some recommendations for the following specialists:

Type II Diabetes Specialist
Glaucoma Specialist
ENT
Dentist
General Practitioner

I know there are lots of opinions but would appreciate any advice you might want to provide. Maybe you have had a bad experience and just want to share that info also. Thanks

My husband and I have been using Dr. Khai Chang on US441/27 for the last 6 years and we think he is wonderful. Spends plenty of time with you and answers all of your questions. You may have to wait in his office past your appointment time but he is well worth it.

Do not live in TV yet, we visit 4-6 times a year for short stays, but above is very well said, I had a great Doc in NJ but the staff was so bad it not a good experience, changed Doctor's and the new Doc's staff is much easier to deal with and the overall care is better.

I am also looking - I am looking for a good doctor who is a woman. My husband & I went to the same one before we moved here & loved her. We both prefer a female - does anyone know of one???
