Default Home Meal delivery??

I'm looking for a home meal delivery service for my dad. 84 years old, in decent health so doesn't qualify for Homebound. He's been a widow for 17 years and just has a hard time coming up with meals and planning ahead. He doesn't really like to eat out a lot so was hoping to find a service that could deliver a few frozen meals a week to just help him out. Is there anything like that around the Villages?? Thanks!

Contact Elder Care. They have all kinds of information on that stuff.

There are many excellent frozen meals as close as Publix. Here are some of our favorites;

Michael Angelo Eggplant Parmesan.
Stouffers Grandma's Chicken Rice Bake
PFChang Sesame Chicken
Stoffer's Italian Lasagna.

If he can drive, he can buy them himself. Some require baking and some are heated in a covered pan. I am a decent cook and these are very good.

Pete's dinner in Fruitland Park used to make up meals for a week at a time. Check with them.

Gracie, I LOVE eggplant. How does Michael Angelo stand up next to your own homemade?

Gracie, there's recipe on foodnetwork-dot-com by Mario Batali for eggplant "stacks" that is MUCH simpler, IMHO, then the traditional recipes calling for salting and draining. It's under eggplant parm, but if you look at the picture, you'll see what I mean. I've made it several times, and it's really delicious.

I have two neighbors that purchase a good deal from Schwann's. If I remember correctly, they make their selections and place their orders online. The items are then delivered to their homes by Schwann's delivery truck.
