Default It's almost the New Year - do you have a weight loss plan?

Starting January 11, 2021, 10 Mondays on Zoom from 1 – 2:30 pm

For those who are serious and committed to losing weight, we offer an alternative approach that uses the well-researched model of cognitive restructuring along with hypnosis to provide an in-depth and innovative way to think yourself thin. Join us if this approach appeals to you. We find that most people are better off when they share burdens with others going through similar experiences in this type of supportive environment. Facilitated by: Elaine Stipetich LCSW, Jo Conard LMHC and hypnotist.

No, I have been the same weight since college. Just eat right, exercise moderately.

Working on keeping the same weight by eating whatever is delicious, low calorie and healthy. Hubby is very slowly losing weight just out of pure fear from what this virus does to you if you are over weight.

I don't, but my lovely wife has a "weight loss plan." She's said that if I don't start shaping up and doing what I'm told, she's changing the locks on the doors - thereby losing about 190 lbs. LOL

My weight loss plan is to finally get back to living like we did in 2019, pre-pandemic. We can't wait to get vaccinated so we can resume going to the gym frequently, and feel comfortable going shopping every couple of days for fresh fruits, vegetables, and fish. Frozen food and food with a long shelf life tends to be much less healthy.

Such a bad time of the year for dieting, in my book. I prefer to eat healthily all year, but know from other past resolutions, January 1st is a stupid date to start denying yourself indulgences!

I watched the video and I thought there was some very poor advice. All weight loss strategies are not equal. Weight loss is only one bio marker of many that you should target. There are plans where you may lose a lot of weight but will lead you to an early grave although you may save money on a skinnier casket.

First and foremost what do the studies suggest is best for reversing heart disease or minimizing the risk of dementia and cancer? What about auto immune diseases and kidney function. They called these the disease of Kings. We know there are poorer countries whose elderly live substantially longer after age 65 and have virtually no heart disease and cancer until their societies adopt the western diet and lifestyle. Same for rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes.

You do not have to spend a dime as there are many good non profit sites to learn from. For starters I would recommend checking out this video by Dr. Gregor who has been on PBS and has written several best sellers.

HOW NOT TO DIE: The Role of Diet in Preventing, Arresting, & Reversing Our Top 15 Killers | NutritionFacts.org

and if you can handle the language, Penn Jillete at Google.

I have found that the best way to lose weight is exercise. The first is to push away from the table. Second, do not pick up late night snacks.

I subscribe to the politician’s way of thinking, it’s the food’s fault. We should ban food.

I attended this class last year. I lost 13lbs in 10 weeks. I was able to maintain this weight loss over the holidays. I still have more weight to loss so I signed up again. The 3 councilors that volunteer their time are awesome. This was a new approach to weight loss and it took me awhile to get it. The hypnotic tapes were positive affirmations. This class is FREE!!!! You only have to pay a small amount for the zoom. (zoom charges for longer sessions). I finally looked at the video and I am in it! LOL
