Default marcus welby docs

ok, I probably missed the memo. Someone today told me that if I want to use these Welby docs, I will be limited according to where I live. I wouldn't be able to go to the Colony ones and the Sumter Landing ones won't be on line until 2014. Is this true??

That has changed. You may go to Colony no matter where you live. Take a ride over there, get a packet, fill it out. Call for an appointment to return it. When you return it, you select your doctor. It's a wonderful center.

We just had our physicals. I asked about that policy and was told it changed about 2 months ago. It does not matter where you live.

They won't take people who have Aetna PPO. They turned me down. If I change insurance they will let me apply with no guarantee I'll be accepted.

At first they were going to limit the folks---plus that, then according to the villages that they lived in. No longer true. You can go to Colony providing your insurance will work, the Belleview Family Practice/Villages in the Sharon Morse Bldg (soon to move to their new location now being built)will also allow you to as well. The one new LSL is in the process, I think, so folks will have to wait on that one. There is also one over by the new library near Powell Rd. and 466a that is in process of being built.

From a page in the info packet that I picked up at the Colony Care Center, here are the opening dates for future Care Centers:
Santa Barbara - Oct 2013
Pinellas - Nov 2013
Mulberry Grove - Feb 2014
Lake Sumter Creekside - Mar 2014

Not every Doctor takes every plan. They have the right to choose who they work with. I would check with around.

As long as you have the insurance they take what is this about being "accepted"? When the healthcare center first opened they anticipated they would be overrun with folks wanting to sign up and you had to wait for your invitation. Well it turns out they didn't get the reaction they expected so they opened Colony to everyone - not by invitation only. I was in there the other day and some folks couldn't sign up right then and were so worried they would be shut out. This was the initial hype about the system - not the case now.
