Update

Thanks again to all of your for your concern, your assistance and for being there. I went to Ocala Eye this morning at 8am unannounced. Told them my problems and was swarmed with people taking care of me. I was lucky enough to get Dr. ElMallah, who someone recommended. I didn't ask for him, just was happy to be seen. He was excellent.

While there is one more test they are running for temporal arteritest (results later today), since the stupid ER did not run the right blood test, he is very sure it is 6th Nerve Palsy. (I'll let you look it up, it's kind of long.) The upshot is it should heal by itself and in the meantime I have an appointment tomorrow with another of their specialists to get prisms put on my glasses so i can finally see what TV looks like.

Thanks again, and wish me luck.

I was at least one of those who recommended Dr. ElMallah to you. My wife had a later followup appointment with him today, and as she told me that her appointment was delayed, I have to presume from what you've said that it's all your fault! :throwtomatoes:

Of course I'm just kidding with you, but she actually was delayed on an appointment with him as stated. Anyway, I'm happy to hear things are working out for you with him and I hope that will continue until the problem is fully resolved!

Correction: It was actually NotGolfer that mentioned Dr. ElMallah, not me! I just supported that location and didn't actually name the Dr.

I have really serious eye problems and for decades have been in the care of a notable group of MDs in Boston. (My primary ophthalmologist there, whom I'm still angry at because he had the nerve to die, granted he was 94, but he was still my doctor, was named one of the top ten physicians in the WORLD of the 20th century!) However, I knew I needed competence here, searched around, and settled on Ocala Eye.

I have two specialists there for two different issues: Dr. Morris for glaucoma and Dr. Samy for a retinal issue to which I have already lost one eye. My wife uses Dr. El Mallah. We both could not be more pleased! You've made the right choice, though I should add that there may be other equally competent practitioners out there. Good luck!

Congratulations on a good choice.
