Default Need good GP recommendations.

We need a good primary care physician who takes Medicare patients.
I would appreciate your comments, good and bad.
I want someone who is competent and caring.
Thanks

Check Leesburg Family Medicine (they have a Villages Clinic). Dr. Larry Foster. Don't know about the insurance coverage.

Default Need Recommendation Too!

Wow, I came here looking for the same thing - recommendations for a good GP/primary care physician. I expected to find gobs of postings! No one here - except for one person - has a great doctor that they could recommend? Otherwise, it's gonna be a crapshoot for us to find a decent doctor to take care of us.

I highly recommend Dr Martinez-Cruz. He's very caring, compassionate and truly cares about your health issues. He's located right by The Villages Hospital.

Everyone has a different definition of a great, caring doctor. You just need to "interview" a few to find a good fit for you. There are many excellent doctors in this area, I feel that everyone needs to research for themselves. A doctor who is perfect for me may not be perfect for you. Check the paper, stop by some health centers , ask lots of questions.

My GP is now Dr Sarah Gitte (Gittay) at Lakeview Internal Medicine at its Laurel Manor office off of 466. She essentially took over a great number of the late Dr. Boris Todorovic's patients, including my wife and I. We are very pleased with her approach, her knowledge ( and she works closely with our other doctors) and her very caring attitude.

As has been wisely suggested above, ask for a 'meet and greet' ( I believe she is still taking new patients) 633-8252.

I Love Dr Brooks Betts at Colony Health Care Center. Wasn't happy with my first choice and switched over to his care...so happy I did!
