Default Need an MD eye doctor.

I've already had cataracts done at St. Lukes. They don't take Villages Health so looking for a new md. Went to Ocala Health and all they wanted to do was dry eyes, tests and proceedures not covered by insurance. Any recommendations?

If you are in Villages Health, you can just contact your PC and get a list of the specialists available. If you have already done this and there were none, you will probably need to go back to your insurance carrier, and see who is listed in the area for the eye care you need. I wish you good luck, as you are now in the problem area we had, and the reason we dropped Villages Health for traditional Medicare and a supplemental insurance.

Don't know which Villages Health plan you have, but St. Luke's does honor Villages Health MedicareComplete2. However, I understand this is a recent addition.

We're in Villages Health and have had no trouble finding eye doctors though our PCP, even for specialists in glaucoma and retinal disease.

We've also had no trouble on being covered for an out of network provider simply because we want one nearby, in The Villages.

Then perhaps you could suggest an MD eye doctor to the OP. I think, judging from the subject heading of his thread, that's what she's looking for.

Dr. Ireland as well as Dr. Gooch at St. Lukes in The Villages are both, as of January 1st, 2018 providers for UHC The Villages.

Dr. Paul Collins, a Residency Trained Optometrist at our office in Grand Traverse near Brownwood, is also a UHC The Villages provider.

If you need any help finding someone, feel free to reach out to us via private message or call us at (352) 674 - 3937 and we'd be happy to find someone that will fit your needs best. Happy New Year!

we found ours by talking with our PCP who was familiar with the issues we had. That's a good way to start.

I second graciegirls recommendation. I have a eye problems to do with my retinas and both she and the retina specialists are excellent. I expect that would hold true with other eye issues as well.
