Default Neuropathy

Has anyone had success in treating Neuropathy? I get this burning, tingling & numbness in my feet. Davis Clinic advertise that they can fix it ....but nothing happens. Expensive too. Nil results from tens shock treatment or Infrared light treatment. Anyone get results from another treatment?

RUN as fast as you can from Davis Clinic. Check on past posts here re: that practice! I had a weird experience with them even before we moved here. Had visited but needed a chiropractor so let the finger do the walking and ended up with Davis. He's a slick on for sure. We paid with a credit card (it was several hundred $$) and 4 or 5 mo. later we get a bill for $18.00 in the mail. I called to ask about it and a very rude office person told me "it's for office costs!" We paid it as to dispute it OR ignore it was something that might have 1st not been worth it and 2nd---who wants to affect an excellent credit rating over $18.00??? There are other things you can do for neuropathy rather than see a charlatan!!! I hope you can find that treatment and relief!!

I also have neuropathy. I suffer mostly from numbness and just a little pain. The numbness is 24/7 and very nasty. I know lots of folks have it much worse than I do, with serious, constant pain.

I just went to a new Villages doctor in the Brownwood health clinic. He specializes in pain management and has quite a few options to explore...in a managed, procedural way of course. I've started my first attempt with a simple medication. I should know in a month or so...could be less...if it's going to help or not. I'll post any significant results here.

I've had diabetic neuropathy in my feet since 2005. I've taken Gabapentin 300mg ever since then and for the most part, it works. I've been told by my doctor I can take up to 2700 mg per day. However, I've run into some problems lately, if I take 3 during the day at once it will make me light-headed. If I take 2 or more at bedtime, they will help you sleep, but I will sometimes sleep walk. I've cut it back to one pill at bedtime and it's still working.

The medication works in your brain and nervous system. It stabilizes the electrical activity in your brain, and affects the way your nerves send messages to your brain. It's prescription, so see your doctor.

I also take Gabapentin, 2 per day. It's worked for me for five years.

Have you tried Neurontin or similar? If not, I suggest that you see either your endocrinologist or neurologist.

Here is an article about a non-medicine therapy, ironically published by a pharmaceutical journal -

The ReBuilder

This device is not your typical TENS unit as the article explains. My husband and I have used one for several nerve and tendon issues over the years with good results.

Agree with what others say about Davis...stay away. My dad has tried everything for neuropathy in his feet with no success until he ordered some electrical stimulation contraption on line. It cost 350.00 and I figured it would be a waste of money but he's been able to get quite a bit of relief from it. You place your feet on it for 20 mins twice per day and it sends weird feeling electrical impulses (I tried it) into your feet that go up your legs. After years of trying to find something to help him this has been the only thing that has worked. Worth the money for sure.

As others have said: Stay away from Davis Clinic. The money you save will be your own. Posted from personal (horrible) experience with them. They are even offering weight loss programs now. They are not one stop fits all, but they claim to be.

There are a lot of pseudo medical people practicing around here.

If they will give you hormone replacement run.
