Default New Swedish Dentist

I think his name is Dr. Ekmund but I wonder if anyone has gone to him. Unfortunately, I don't have dental insurance and so many dentists want their money up front. Uhhh, excuse me, but I don't have that kind of money coming in to do that!

I am such a coward when it comes to dentists. (long story stemming from horrible experiences as a child) I really want to get established with someone here in TV and not have to make the trip to Ohio to have my teeth treated.

Thanks for your input!

Oops, his name is Dr. Perry Ekstrand, not Ekmund! Been one of those days!

Default Great Dentist!

I saw Dr. Ekstrand when he was briefly at Sumter Landing Dental. After a year and a half of pain and problems he figured out what was wrong and treatment was started. This man is caring and he takes whatever time is necessary to explain things as he goes. I ran into him in Publix recently and he was just as warm and friendly there as he is wielding a drill! His wife, Debby, works in his office, and she is lovely, also. He made enough of a favorable impression on me that I am considering going to him the next time I need dental care. I do not believe that he takes my insurance but he does offer an in-house plan that may work for me.

I always google health care providers before I visit them. Many times there will be comments re: their clinic, their care etc.

I believe that is the dentist they had a feature story about a couple of months ago in The Villages Magazine that is mailed to your home. From memory, I think he practiced in Crystal River for about ten years and just prior to coming to TV, he and his family took a trip to the Alaskan wilderness. I believe they chartered a small plane flew out into the wild and camped for a couple of months. Out among the bears and the like, something that really astonished me. As far as a dentist, I've heard only good things.

Dr. Ekstrand is extremely caring and just fitted me with a bridge. His work is meticulous and he and his staff really care. This was a three month process from start to finish and during that time, dr. Ekstrand called me several times to make sure everything was ok. I would recommend him to anyone.
