I don't know about others but I had one installed over a year ago. I had Afib and my
Doctor suggested I get one to control the pace of my heart. The one I got the Doctor told me I didn't have to be careful around Microwave ovens. I have been doing good since it was installed.

Had one put in 5 years ago,it saved my life while playing pickleball.

Don’t have a pacemaker but had a 5 way heart bypass. I would say it’s beneficial to have a pacemaker if you want to live a little longer. Sorry your question is a little confusing. It’s like saying do I want to live or die soon!

My wife had a pacemaker put in about 3 years ago. It saved her life. She had fainting spells before it was put in because her heart would stop for a moment. Now she is perfectly fine.
