Default Pill Pack

Has anyone used this new service by Amazon where they prepackage all your prescriptions into labeled, daily doses?

Pill management for both me and DH is beginning to wear me down. Yes I do use those 30-day organizers one for me and one for him but I still hate doing it. (I'd rather clean an oven LOL).

Anyway interested in knowing if you have had any experience with these folks. Thanks.

YES! It is AMAZING!!!! I had to order this for my Aunt as she lived alone and was not taking her meds as she should....would forget, take twice...it was a mess. I sat down with her and all her meds and called and walked thru it with them and had it all set up. It was AMAZINGLY easy, and each package has marked right on there AM, Noon, PM. It was so much easier for her, not to mention, she was not struggling with the bottle caps that she had difficulty with. HIGHLY recommend!

I haven't used it because I wouldn't trust it. Also, what do you do with the extra pills when you change your dose for a day or two? I think the organizers are a better way to do it. And, I hate the commercial where the lady is stuffing huge pill bottles into a small purse. Nobody would do that.

I'm sorry for you, OP. At our house, pill distribution is one of the husband's jobs.

I think the most economical way to buy pills is to order a 90 day supply, and often the doses change during that 90 day period. I wonder how the pill pack service handles a change in dosing, and how fast can they react? I'm just skeptical. It seems like it could get confusing. I wouldn't want to be stuck with 30 or 40 packages of pills that were not the correct dose.

I don't think it is sooo different from having the bottles and I'm inclined to think that the benefits outweigh the negatives.

I appreciate your comments -- you've given me some good questions think about. And I will add them to the list of things to discuss when I call Pill Pack.

Well since your husband appears to have his hands full, it's going to have to be me or Pill Pack.

I tried it. I loved the convenience but realized my 90 day mail order pricing was $500 a year less. Switched back.

BK can you try it for a month or two and then revert back to the terrible way? I have to force myself to get out the four boxes and strap up the medicine for the month. It really is NOTHING but a terrible mission.

It would be interesting to see what you think about it if you decide to try it. Much appreciated in advance!

We just started the mail order thing for me at the end of 2019 and it worked out great. Now we have to get Mrs. Nucky squared away. It's gonna free up lots of Concrete Mixer Money with Cookie Dough!

Well that sure is a big negative. However, we pay $0 for both of us under my husband's union retiree drug plan and we have used several mail order pharmacies in the past without any push back or even recommendation from them to do otherwise (Not that I want to foolishly blow their money -- maybe I'll ask the provider what their position is on Pill Pack. Hmmmm?

Thanks for the input.

For sure I'll let you know what I learn since I am leaning very heavily towards giving it a shot.

If you go to the site I posted it says there is no additional costs, only what your copay is. Like you and your husband, we also have a $0 copay. Also no cost for shipping and they do all the leg work too. You can add vitamins and other over the counter supplements that WILL add a cost too. There are probably several companies for this.

And tell Nucky - As Rocco gets out the car, Clemenza says: "Leave the pill box – take the cannoli."

Love it! Ordered for my parents. My mom would take her pills out of the weekly box I would make up &change them. It is wonderful to have them in sealed packs!
