I have been with them for a year and have not had any problems. Did get an eye exam but am waiting for my dentist appointment. Waiting to see if there will be any changes now that United Health Care has bought them out.

We have been on PCP since last January. I can't believe that down the road these HMOs will be around regardless of how Medicare is revamped. Too expensive for Medicare giving a refund of $75/mo.
Had to give up a great primary doctor since he doesn't accept PCP. We found another great doctor near the hospital. Golf cart accessible. Haven't found a dentist after three tries. Haven't tried to find eye doctor. Previous eye doctor at Lake Eye doesn't accept PCP.
Might go back to AARP Advantage next year even though it's more expensive.

I have used PCP for two years and have been very pleased. I think an advantage plan has more appeal to the more healthy senior citizen. My experience with Dr. Fisher's dental office was very pleasant. I got a great cleaning with no high pressure recommendations for anything else. Remember that standard medicare with a supplement policy usually does not cover eye care or dental work, so these features with PCP are a nice extra.

I have had them for a year , no problem.

Problems with PCP

We have been with PCP since Jan. I had some problems with my hands and wrists. Every step of the way had to be refered to PCP to be approved. As a result, the resolution to my problem took over 4 months, where it could have been resolved in one month or less. PCP is fine for people who don't need extensive diagnostic services. We were able to change to United Health Care Medicare Suplement (Plan F). It cost substantially more than PCP, but you do not need approval from the PCP to go see a specialist. Also you may want to see if PCP is "caping" your medical provider. This means if you use your dollar allotment as established by PCP for your physician, you will have to wait until next month to have any other services preformed. Things may change when United Healthcare takes over for PCP in 2014. Questions that you should have answers for so you can be sure what you are signing up for.

I am in my second year, shame on me. If you like cheap and you are already healthy - these are your people. If you want a clear english speaking Primary Physician, if you want a representative list of competant providers, if you don't care about jumping through hoops to get a referral and/or you don't care if your urgent care needs will take up to a month to be attended....these are your people. A fair comparison would be the socialized health care provided by the Canadiens. Again, some like the price and are not that concerned about the care. For me, I am dumping them as soon as the enrollment period opens again.

I have several health issues going! We have PCP and will be keeping it! It was a good decision in my opinion. Haven't had to jump through hoops. You might have to wait for specialists but that's because *their* schedules are full. That was my experience before I was with PCP...not the primary's fault.

If my Doctors were telling me they are having a problem with the Insurance co (medicare advantage) I would change Doctors. No confidentiality. The programs may be Insurance co, but the rules are Medicares . A Bad exp at the Drs would not be the Insurance co fault. There is some better than others and waiting until Jan to find out is too late. All info will be Avail 10/15 for 2012
