Default Primary Doctor recommendations

I am in need of a new primary physician. I am looking for a male, preferably young enough to outlive me so I don't have to change again, someone that listens, does not have a strong foreign accent so that I can understand him, an office where you are seen somewhat near the appointment time, and has a staff that is on the ball. I would prefer Lake Sumter or south and/or western Leesburg. Not interested in Premier Medical doctors. I have medicare with Anthem Blue Cross supplement. Thank you in advance for a good recommendation.

Definitely Dr. Stephen Rivers. Both of us see him. He has actually saved my husbands life twice, once for ruptured appendix with no symptoms and just two weeks ago for a Widow Maker, also with no real symptoms. What we really like about him is the specialists he is associated with, we think they are the best in the area.

The requirement for the physician to be located at Lake Sumter and south may be difficult to find other than through The Villages Health System. You may need to look in Leesburg for a primary doctor.

As you know, what should be simple is not. Sadly, for most of us, including me, it is a matter of personality. Often the one with the best personality is not the best doctor.

This being the villages most doctors, most patients, are on medicare. Medicare decides what a doctor can do and what they will pay him/her for their work and their education. Medicare figures a doctor can spend no more than 15 minutes with each patient-four per hour. You being polite ask the doctor how he is etc. You've used up half or a third of the time medicare allows. Imagine, running a business like that. Yes, it is a business. The doctor needs to pay for all those people he must have to wrestle with insurance people, the cost of malpractice insurance, etc. Oh and then add to that the fact that your customers are there with problems. Heck we all go looking for stuff when we see the doctor. Hey, doc I just stopped by to say hello and pay you $$$$$$ I'm fine no need to look at anything. We are upset when a friend an acquaintance a relative passes away. Imagine your doctor. Perhaps, the reason why most, many doctors seem to have a shield on-they must to survive.

My opinion is to ask a doctor or a nurse. I've tried doing this and the truth is they all seem to be sworn to secrecy. Looking on the internet. Perhaps researching mal practice cases. Is sadly meaningless. Part of a malpractice settlement is the case is sealed. You will never know.

Another interesting fact. Our success rate is highest in .........
As discovered by a friend who's mother needed a coronary bypass. His mother had a pre-existing condition. The hospital that regularly advertised the highest success rate also took only the best patients. Aside, she had it done elsewhere and all was fine.

Thank you, I did note that Leesburg is a location that would work for me.

use the site healthgrades to assist in your search... you will be able to conduct a search in your zipcode for a PCP, see the Dr's credentials, education, reviews, insurance they accept and some post pics....
