I found that the only thing that helped me was L-Glutamine powder. You can buy it in bulk on Amazon. I started out with 5 mg daily and worked up to around 20 mg. It made my GERD go away!

My point was that self-treatment could possibly mask symptoms. In my humble opinion, I think people who suffer DAILY from GERD should see a doctor or specialist. The esophageal cancer I mentioned was only discovered by a larngoscopy. The patient survived due to early diagnosis.
