Default Renting for 3 months will I be able to use Villages Health?

I will be renting from July - Sept in the Villages. Not that I am anticipating any issues however, if i need to go to a doctor during that time could i use the Villages Health system? Would I just need to go to the ER? Thanks in advance for your responses!

Villages Health System has NOTHING to do with renting or buying in The Villages.

I would ask how long it will take to get an appointment and check to see if they take your insurance.

There are many doctors in the area who will accept Medicare and other insurance plans. However, if you are over 65, I don't think you can use the Villages Health System unless you have the Villages United Health Medicare Advantage plan. They won't accept regular Medicare Part B or other Medicare plans.

I agree with the comments above, we had to leave Villages health when they changed their policy to ONLY the 3 ADVANTAGE plans and no Medicare& supplemental. The urgent care facilities seem to be very good and have much longer hours than VHS, do NOT use the ER 'to see a doctor', you will probably have a long wait, and you may be subjected to surprise costs. You may be able to find a primary care doctor, but you will need to contact them early, and schedule your initial meeting shortly after you arrive, otherwise, you may have 1 month or more wait just for the initial visit.

We moved here as permanent residents 1 month ago, changed our insurance to Florida Blue, called Colony Health to schedule appointments and were told the next appointment was towards the end of the year. BUT they did put us on a wait list... Called Leesburg and was able to get in by mid June.

Please be more clear ...

"called Colony Health" -- Are your referring to The Villages Health Colony Care Center?

"called Leesburg" -- The Villages Health does not have an office in Leesburg. What primary care facility did you call?

Go to the Munroe Regional Hosp ER in Summerfield next to Del Web on 441 or go to an urgent care. They are all over.

The Villages Health system take sonly the Villages Advantage Plan! This upset many people in the community because The Villages Health System demanded that you drop your present plan and buy their inferior plan.

Well, honestly they didn't "demand" or make anyone drop their preferred health insurance. It just upset those who didn't want to lose the care they had come to expect right around the corner from their home.
Personally, I think it left a bitter taste in many mouths which to this day cannot say anything good about any of The Villages healthcare options-including The Villages hospital. I, on the other hand, can only say how pleased I have been including a significant issue handled at the hospital.

I feel the same, Villages Health and Villages Hospital have worked out very well for us.
