Default Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Groups

Not sure I am posting in the right area but just found out I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and after finally (after almost 2 months) getting appointment with Rheumatoid Arthritis "Specialist" I was very disappointed in treatment and explaining more about what my problems are and how to treat them

I was wondering if anyone could help me in sharing information concerning this dreaded disease or if they might be some type "Support Groups" that would help in learning more as to symptoms, treatment, doctors etc.

As always I appreciate any and all help in talking to anyone that might better help me understand what I am going thru and have learned "The Villages" Forum has always helped me in the past as to problems I have had.

Thank you again and stay safe.

Please send pm (private message) or just respond as I am interested in knowing more and would love to talk to individuals or groups to get more information.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this painful disease, but know it's quite common at our age. I don't know about "support groups", but I find googling sites like the Mayo Clinic has helpful tips. Here are some that I feel are helpful:

"Exercise regularly. Gentle exercise can help strengthen the muscles around your joints, and it can help fight fatigue you might feel. Check with your doctor before you start exercising. If you're just getting started, begin by taking a walk. Avoid exercising tender, injured or severely inflamed joints.
Apply heat or cold. Heat can help ease your pain and relax tense, painful muscles. Cold may dull the sensation of pain. Cold also has a numbing effect and can reduce swelling.
Relax. Find ways to cope with pain by reducing stress in your life. Techniques such as guided imagery, deep breathing and muscle relaxation can all be used to control pain.

I wish you well.

Thank you as your advice is greatly appreciated. Now I'm trying to deal with the "nodules" forming on my feet and what to do about them.
