Default Sad about Ted Kennedy

Can't say that I like this man or respect him, but I think its very sad what's in store for him and his family.

After having a similar, but thankfully, and benign brain tumor, I can only imagine the horror he must be going through right now. When I heard about the seizure, I prayed (a short prayer) that it would not be cancer, but unfortunately, it was.

Just wondering if any of you have any thoughts on this, I didn't put it in the political forum on purpose as I won't even go near that thread!! Its a cancer unto itself. This is in health discussions as I'm interested to hear your thoughts on this matter.

I know personally of two people who had this cancer. It is swift and most painful. The longest survival was ~2 years and they were not very peaceful.

I do not respect Mr. Kennedy either but I am not here to judge him, but to pray that he makes it right before he meets the Lord.

My mother had the same type of tumor. She was initially given 3 months. I was never quite sure if it was fortunate or not but she died of a heart attack caused by the biopsy and stupidity of the surgeon. I pray that Mr. Kennedy's path be as pain-free as possible and that his family not have to watch him suffer regardless of the outcome. This family has suffered enough.

Had a cousin who suffered through a brain tumor. Also had a very close friend. Both died.

I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

I, also, was not a fan of his...however, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

I pray he suffers little pain and pray his family has God's guidance and is given peace.

Red, so sorry you had this to face with your mom, its terrible just to hear that news. I can truly relate. In retrospect, it was probably more of a blessing for your mom because I have seen what it does to people and its not pleasant.

I just can't share your feelings here. He got away with murder and Mary Jo Kopecknie went through a lot of suffering in that car at Chappaquidic and I just hope that she gets her justice, whether that means him suffering or not. Sorry, but I have no sympathy for guys like him, O J Simpson, Charles Manson, etc. I lump them all in one bundle.

Fudpucker

I understand where you are coming from...

However, this is a very painful death...and I don't wish pain on anyone...no matter what.

I know you well enough to know you don't either...not really.

Agree it was a cowardly thing he did that night to Mary Jo, and to her family, but its sad for someone to hear that news. He probably won't stand a chance against that cancer and I guess God does things in funny ways, but I still have compassion for his family. Its not only painful but its totally debilitating. I'm not trying to change your mind, Mr. Pucker, just that this is my feeling, having had a brain tumor not long ago, and that sinking feeling is just unbelievable and hard to deal with. JMHO. Kath

I agree Bright..I pray for his peace and that of his family...No one should suffer, regardless of their past..

I'm not a Ted Kennedy fan but I have to give the man credit. He is showing incredible class and strength in facing the cameras with this news.

I agree that what happened in his past was ugly and tragic, but I do think he has paid for that over and over. I doubt he can really forget nor forgive his cowardice on that evening. Hopefully, he has grown and learned.

To lump Kennedy in the same class as Simpson or Manson is really beyond the pale. Ted Kennedy was a coward. He did not murder deliberately. It was not an act of malice. It was an accident that became a tragedy because of his actions. It was stupid and venal. Fud, I sincerely hope you never make a mistake or use poor judgment. I doubt you would be able to live with yourself afterwards; unless, of course, your standards only apply to others, not to you. We all need and deserve compassion at times.

Think it is difficult to measure a man or woman by something tragic in his or her life like with the Chappaquiddick incident.

Ted Kennedy is not someone I admire. This is the same feeling as many on this thread, but he has done some good as a liberal leader in the US Senate.

Have a client who just passed away from a malignant brain tumor around May 18, 2008. He lasted less than two years or so from his diagnosis.

I totally agree Nonie. This family has certainly enjoyed and suffered the extremes of life. from the best to the worst. I pray for strength for him and his family.

I certainly would not wish this prognosis on anyone.

However, this underscores Michael Savage's claim that "liberalism is a mental disorder". Judging from Teddy's record, it's been coming on for a while.

I respect your feelings and opinions and I know about suffering. I have post polio syndrome, had two heart attacks, quadruple bypass surgery, and now fighting stage 4 colon cancer that has metastisized to the lymph nodes and liver. So I am not a perfectly well individual who doesn't understand suffering. But I still can't sympathize with a murderer, sorry. Maybe I am too cold hearted, but 30 years of law enforcement tends to do that to people. Thanks for your concern though. And, again, I do respect your feelings. Tommy
