Default Salzmann's Nodular Degeneration

I went for my annual eye exam 3 weeks ago. I couldn't pass the eye chart test even with my glasses on. I have no trouble seeing at work (using a computer most of the day) or driving (day or night). The optometrist suspects I may have Salzmann's Nodular Degeneration. I will be seeing an opthamalogist in 3 weeks.

Is anyone on TOTV familiar with this condition? The optometrist said this condition is often treated with a superficial keratectomy, although the treatment will be determined by the opthamologist.

My younger sister was diagnosed with this condition a few years ago. All she got was a stronger prescription for her glasses, so she is quite interested in what the opthamologist I see recommends for me.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.
