A human monoclonal antibody blocking SARS-CoV-2 infection | Nature Communications

Be sure to read the acknowledgements at the bottom. China is still a valid and recognized part of world medical research.

Sometimes the desire to cast blame is greater than our need to know the truth.

Some of us are actually capable of distinguishing the difference between Chinese doctors and the communist party that runs China.

And there are plenty on here who would dismiss anything out of hand from China, CCP or otherwise, even if Jesus Christ guaranteed the source!

What is not apparent in other linked articles is that this antibody is "fully human", which means it does not require testing in other animals and then be adapted to human use. This one does:

Sounds promising! There is no reason not to work together to defeat this virus. If this virus is active in any part of the world, it will get to us through global travel so we need to defeat it everywhere. Politics can wait till we are out of this pandemic. We can hold them accountable later.

(If the stats out of China are anywhere accurate they have something now to keep Covid at bay, and we don’t know what it is.)

Default Antibodies

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), located here in the US, is also working very hard on this. They were recently on CBS discussing this topic.

Unfortunately doctors in China have to be careful what they say because of the communist leaders. I am guessing now all of the info leaving China is being reviewed by a government official.

Maybe this sounds like conspiracy theory, but I’ve wondered if China infected a chosen few & sent them on airplanes to purposely, potentially infect dozens of people, who unknowingly infect others, and here we are today...

There is a lot of promising work being done to find something that can treat this virus. One drug that shows promise of being very effective is a monoclonal antibody called Leronlimab. It is near approval as a treatment for HIV and has been used to treat some seriously ill Covid-19 patients, under an emergency use program. Several very seriously ill patients who were not helped by other treatments did recover after being treated with Leronlimab. Phase 2b/3 trials are underway at several locations. Initial results should be available soon. I'm hopeful and expecting that either this drug or one of the other treatments under development will be successful and available before any of the vaccines might be ready for use. If so, we will be able to return to our normal lives with more confidence by early fall.
