It seems like we always want black & white solutions to complex human issues. I'm wondering what the medical recommendations are? Can women with dementia have sufficient arousal? Does this diminish as the dementia progresses. Since the body reacts to stimulation of both the nerve system and in the mind I'd be interested in the physiology debate as well as the ethic and legal aspects.

He was found not guilty yesterday!!

Interestingly it seems the not-guilty verdict was based more on the inability to prove that a sexual act had occurred than whether it would be a crime if one had occurred. Once the jury agreed on lack of proof of an act then they did not need to consider the more nuanced issues.

I agree. People are quick to condemn what makes them uncomfortable or confuses them.

There are so many things about humans we don't understand. So much about how we are is still confusing . I learned a great deal more about this when I watched the Bruce Jenner interview.

I felt sad for him and thought how much we don't know and how much we can't understand easily about our own species.

On the matter the OP introduced my view is that no one should ever take sexual satisfaction without the consent on some level from the other and that would be difficult to ascertain in this issue.
