Prayers coming from our home. Please know that Helene and I both truly understand. My personal inclination is to go to Tampa to Moffitt. Go where they do hundreds a month.

Hugs and love and prayers.

Agree with Gracie if your mother is up for the trips. Will light a candle and say a prayer. Best wishes to all of you.

Connie -
Can't recommend a surgeon...but will offer prayers for your Mom, you and your family.

My wife had breast cancer 8 years ago and had Dr. Celia Nelson do the surgery at Leesburg hospital.

She is the most gentle, kind, caring person you will meet. Very patient focused. No rush, rush about her at all.

Thanks, everyone, your responses really helped me. Today we went to Dr. Nelson's office here in The Villages at The Sharon Morse building. She seems very thorough and capable.

Not too sure about her staff at The Villages office. Mom spent 1 hour filling out paperwork that should have been offered to me to have Mom fill out with me so we could do it together. Also the office was closed when we arrived, the staff was at lunch! Then they asked Mom the same questions again that she had just spent an hour doing.

The doctor apologized for the staff. I guess no other patients had the nerve to complain.

Thank you Gracie and Helene. My mom is 85 and cannot go to Tampa for treatments. She is best here in The Villages.

What you will find to be a very trying experience is that as you go forward and have to meet all the different specialists that will be involved both pre op and post op.......they all ask the very same questions and need the same information provided to all the others along the way.

This site might help. Compare Best Credit Card Offers | Car Insurance | CD Rates | Savings
Use the health tab and best hospitals.
Univ Fl hospital in Gainsville might be good. As I recall they have a cancer hospital.
The Medicare site might have some info on quality of hospitals.
