Have you ever had teeth damage due to a surgery in the hospital. Would like to know if hospital accepted any or all the cost for repair? Thank you.

The surgical consent form usually lists the possibility of teeth damage with general anesthesia.

It also says that you can die from the anesthesia. If the surgical consent form protected the hospital and doctor from liability, there would be no malpractice lawsuits.

Teeth Are looked at when the Anesthesia team evaluates your ability to open your mouth and score from 1-4. You are asked if you have dentures or any loose teeth.
If Damage is noticed in pre-op, it is noted in chart, and Anesthesia record. Once in the Or any damage or loose teeth, not seen in preop is noted by Anesthesia, staff in the room, and charted. If in fact damage is done to a tooth during intubation, it is noted on Anesthesia record, and chart.
