My doctor never had me get the second booster so guessing they won’t have me get the next one.

Never had it. Never will.

Yes my husband and I just got the NEW BIVALENT COVID booster which targets the omicron varients as well. Both pfizer and moderna have the new bivalent vaccine. We went to CVS after booking appointments online. We definitely felt sluggish for about 48 hours but that was our only side effect. I have a handful of friends across the country who had their last booster not omicron specific 6+ month ago who have just contracted COVID. They will recover but it hit hard and ran through everyone they were in contact with. They have all been "shut in" very weak and sick. I am hoping this new Bivalent formula will protect me from getting very sick if I do get COVID.

Draw your own conclusions about this. I did.

Given that one persons experience is statistically insignificant no conclusions can be drawn about it.

The new booster addresses the latest strains of CoVid. My doc advised getting it in mid-November so that it provides the highest protection through the holidays when you are around the most people.

Only place I could find in The Villages was Walgreen's on 42. Appointment setup for next Monday. At this point Publix is not offering the updated booster for the Omnicon variant.

We got the Moderna booster for omicron at a Publix in Eustis this week.

Me and the wife got our 3rd booster Sunday 9/18. Aside from a little upper arm soreness the 2nd night we had Zero side effects. These shots must be working since we know so many people that have got Covid19 but we have not. We are a little more cautious than most though and we are still wearing masks in crowded places. We are not too worried about our "Freedoms being infringed upon" and feel it's worth being safer than sorry! Call us just "Old Fashioned"!

Where did you get the Moderna booster?

Me, I haven’t had the first Jab yet! GOD has set my time and place so no matter what I do, GODs got this;)

Already got it, along with flu shot. Has Omicron protection in it. Had no side effects at all.

Amen!

WingedFoot78 09-23-2022 06:17 AM

For the wife and I, they already are.

Omicron is WHO's generic name for a group of several variants, of which includes the BA-5 and BA-4.6 types. Those two account for 95% of all new infections this past week.
Someone commented about waiting for the omicron variant to be included in the newest vaccine. Not sure what they meant about that? Perhaps they mis-spoke because this 3rd booster does specifically targets that.
Look here for up to date statistics on infection rates broken down by variant version.
