Hope you were able to get on some Tamiflu to lessen the symptoms. When I got the flu last season, I said to the doctor maybe I should have gotten the flu shot. He said not to be so hard on myself, that 50% of the patients he saw with the flu had gotten one that season.

Thanks Abby. It's the upper respiratory kind. Tomorrow I go to see if I have pneumonia. I have a lot of wheezing in my chest. I do have meds but not Tamiflu as I am allergic to it. Lucky me.
This is the same flu hubby had about 10 days ago.

Hope hubby is doing okay and praying you get well soon too without any further complications. It's bad enough to be sick up here where it's cold, but it should be against the law in beautiful, sunny Florida......:)

I so agree. I have had my share of health issues over the last six months and am ready to get out and enjoy things again.

I just got over influenza A. I am always so careful - washing hands, avoiding people who are coughing etc. Picked it up somewhere. Okay now, just a little cough left which gets a little better each day. First time sick in 20 years so can't complain.

Just exactly what is flu? What are the symptoms? I had an upper respiratory infection about a month ago, but the doctor did not diagnose it as flu.

Also don't rub your eyes.

Here's an article from the CDC about that -

Flu Symptoms & Complications | Seasonal Influenza (Flu) | CDC

I've had the flu twice in the past 10-15 years. The last incidence was a confirmed case as I was tested. They can do that now in under 10 minutes. Both episodes began abruptly with fever, extreme fatigue, and body aches - sometimes head to toe, like even my hair follicles. To me, these are more reliable indicators that one has the flu. Respiratory symptoms could be anything. If that's all you have, I would bet there is a good chance it is not the flu.

Many of my co-workers, in fact almost all, have had severe respiratory illnesses this seasons lasting a month or longer. None have been confirmed as the flu.
